Why We Build in Public, The Story Behind A Pause with Rematea

Most brands are built in private. They get the product perfect, the packaging right, the website done - and then they launch. Clean. Controlled. Safe.
We did the opposite.
Before Rematea had a finished website, we opened a room. At Mod Studios in Lawrence, MA, we hosted A Pause with Rematea. We made tea. We invited people. We let what happened, happen.
Why community first
Because a wellness brand built without community isn't really a wellness brand. It's a product with good packaging. We wanted to know if what we were building actually meant something to real people - people from our neighborhoods, our networks, our world. Not a focus group. Just a room.
What happened that afternoon
People stayed longer than they said they would. Conversations happened that wouldn't have happened anywhere else. Someone asked if we were doing it again.
What building in public means for us
It means you're not just buying a product. You're joining something that's still becoming. We're going to keep hosting these moments, keep learning in real time, and keep bringing people into the process - because that's the only kind of brand we know how to build.
The next Pause is coming. We'd love for you to be there.
